Rules:

1. This a drama free zone (ooc drama, that is) so leave any bitch-ass behaviour outside.

This is a place for writing slick stories, not for making the supreme character who is above all other characters.

We reserve the right to change and or add rules as we see fit but prefer to not need to.

2. Respect each other, yes, even if they like pineapple on pizza. People are going to have different opinions on stuff like the prequels, Acolyte, Rey, Jar Jar, and so on, we ate pre-emptively banning hating on content in general.

3. No toxic bullshit (we decide if it's toxic, by reading this, you agree to all rules listed here).

4. Bigotry free zone.

5. Friends who want to stay friends won't talk about politics or religion, so none of that here either.

6. No fucking Hawk Tuah memes and or anything that Sage's cat disapproves of.

7. Characters and special items to be approved before appearing in RP: exception is if it's a character with nothing special in terms of abilities or items.

8. Shadows can only be played with Acrobat's permission and require strict conditions for character creation.

9. No whining that we aren't following canon or whatever rules you think need to be followed, we're making up our own damn rules and you've already agreed to play along.

10. No doxxing.

11. No NSFW content.

12. Anything else we make up.

Character rules advanced:

No canon characters - connections to some canon characters may be allowed within reason, if you can make it make sense - we probably won't approve a character who casually embarassed Vader and Ahsoka in a 2v1 while 180 no-scoping Din Djarin's helmet.

Canon species in general are usually allowed, although we may restrict some if we consider them too powerful like gen'dai - we may make exceptions for nerfed versions if we feel like it.

Original Creation species need approval, generally when making them, ask yourself if it would seem out of place appearing in content. Special abilities need balancing with weaknesses and or limitations.

Don't bring in species from other universes, so no Viltrumites or Kree (you can use a Kree picture for a Chiss).

It is your responsibility to make characters that fit the setting, not the other way around. We will try to include role-players, but we won't change the setting etc to suit you.

Skills: Do not make your character being good at everything.

It's expected that all Jedi and Sith train in all lightsaber forms, but only master one or two, and your chosen saber-forms don't decide if you win or lose a fight, this isn't rock/paper/scissors/lizard/Spock.

Jedi characters: The setting is post Order 66 and it's generally accepted that maybe ten percent of Jedi survived, so even with Kenobi, Cal Kestis and others around, there's room for Jedi, but you will have to explain how they survived and what they've been doing for the last five years.

Sith characters: The rule of two applies to Vader and Palpatine, so any other Sith will have to have been in hiding as well - maybe there's some secret sect, or multiple sects, we haven't decided yet.

Force power levels: We are fine with characters starting out as the equivalent of a Jedi Knight, but not a Jedi Master, and it's recommended that new RPers start as untrained or padawan level - only trained force users can use the force effectively, and we will not be having any natural prodigies or chosen ones - Grogu was unique and he still had to take a nap after doing much.

Our scale is this:

Level 1: adept - an untrained force user. An adept may know that they are a force sensitive, but if they do not regularly train, their power is generally subconscious at best.

Level 2: Jedi padawan/Sith acolyte - a trained being who is consistently training, but in terms of power still has a lot to learn.

This can refer to a force user who is unaffiliated, but is aware of their power and is training regularly, but the ability to do so will be limited without access to texts and or an instructor, but the only instructors of worth will be affiliated.

Level 3: Jedi Knight/Sith Lord - an affiliated force user who has trained to the point that they are no longer an apprentice, but is still not a master - when an electrician finishes their apprenticeship, they are qualified - new, but qualified.

Note: We do not allow unaffiliated level three force users, unless specifically approved and even then, there will be restrictions and weaknesses attached. Such must be requested before being played in RP.

Level 4: Jedi Master/Sith Master - the highest level of training and power - there is a difference between one who has passed all their studies in a given field, and one who has come as close as possible to perfecting it, although true perfection does not exist for those who are alive, and there is always more to learn - the one who is qualified is now at their peak of ability, with little room to grow, but never zero.

But wait, there's more:

Saber-resistant items: in general, they are usually uncommon (most characters don't have beskar spears, although a lot of imperial guys have saber resistant batons, and basically every melee weapon in KotOR seems to be impervious), but we understand that most players might want something to help them survive more than two seconds against a saber-wielder.
If you want such an item, request it and be sure to make it make sense: if it's beskar, or song steel, or a similar thing, give the backstory.

We will not be approving cortosis (the kind that shuts off lightsabers)
Now, I worry that you think we said that we might approve some cortosis that shuts down lightsabers, as a treat, but we actually said we will not be approving cortosis.
The celebrity guests will soon be arriving and they are allergic to cortosis, do not add any cortosis.

If you ask for cortosis I will make my cat shit in your coffee.

Okay fine, you can request cortosis but it won’t be the saber-short circuiting kind.

We'd like to contact you about your extended warranty:

Space ships: for our universe, we aren't era-snobs or ship experts and we like it that way, so it's fine if you want an Old Republic era ship or a modern era ship (the setting is Empire, about five years after Order 66), or screw it, even a sequels era ships - maybe your character found a restored antique that has modern parts, maybe they found an experimental model, but we will be disregarding any "stats" or whatever fuckery that makes one ship overpowered (by our deciding).

Choose ships based on rule of cool, not on what you think makes it the ship that beats everyone elses'.

Fleets: The setting is empire, you don't have a fleet.

Warships: No Star Destroyers, maybe a light cruiser if you need a large mobile base, but most of the RP will be taking place in Brightstone Sanctuary, and really, if you need more than a Falcon sized ship, you need to explain why.

♪ Tell me when will you be mine, Tell me Mando Mando Maaaando ♪

Mandalorians: We do not require everyone be a clone of Din Djarin, as seen in the show, some do not have to wear helmets 24/7 - we will not be having any force sensitive Mandalorians and do not ask for the Darksaber, Gideon has it.

Imperial characters: We will allow Imperial characters but there might not be a lot of RP at this time to be had as an Imperial as the main setting is Brightstone Sanctuary (this may change in the future).

Whatever the hell we want:

Grey force users/Shadows: In this RP we allow limited appearances of grey force users, but within very strict conditions - for the vast majority of beings, being a shadow or grey force user is impossible: one may struggle temporarily with the light or dark, but will inevitably fall on one side of the line or the other.

If a being was born and grew up on a planet that is a shadow-vergence or shadow-nexus in the force - just as some planets like Korriban are strong in the dark side of the force, and Auratera are strong in the light side of the force, some rare planets are strong in both.

Isle is a shadow-nexus world, and its native species exist only as shadows or they refrain from using the force - Zoolfadia is a sister dwarf planet that shares an orbit with Isle, and while affected by Isle's shadow-nexus, is not as deeply affected, thus some Zoolfadians who are force sensitive have the potential to be shadows, but it is not required.
Other worlds like these two may exist, but they will be very rare.

Beings who are born and raised in such worlds, have the potential to become a shadow - for everyone else, the dark side is a corruption of the force.

Bendu is not a shadow or grey force user, as a grey uses both the light and dark, while Bendu uses neither.

Shadows can with training, come to be able to use both the light and dark without being inexorably drawn to one side or the other, but using powers that are specifically light or dark is especially taxing upon them, while no such drawback exists for Jedi who use lightside specific powers, or Sith who use darkside specific powers.

Just as Sith draw on their anger and fury, while Jedi draw on their inner peace and serenity, a Shadow uses a blend of both, but never achieves the fullness of rage or tranquility, instead finding a point in between (yes we ripped this from X-Men First Class when Xavier helps Magneto, shut up Joe).

Oh yeah, we know Pablo Hidalgo stated that grey force users aren't a thing - complaining about it is banned. We are doing whatever the hell we want.

Combat rules (abridged) :

For a more advanced look at combat, click here, this entry is a rough summary I wrote while sleep deprived (like everything else on this damn page)

Turn based combat, no moding/autos (that is no deciding an attack landed because you decided it does).

Make defences make sense.

No brow-beating people into agreeing that they lost.

We recommend that you discuss with players before getting into fights, agree to how the fight will likely turn out first - you don't have to script the thing, but have a plan so no one complains afterward.

This is an NKZ/No Kill Zone without permission - we're here to write stories, not rack up kills. If you need kills, fire up Jedi Outcast and go head to head, or we can figure out some D20 fuckery (if we can be bothered).

Fights are meant for adding to the story - if your goal is to just kill characters, you're in the wrong place.
