No Autos
An auto (aka mode) in it's basic form is when a character/player forces their own will upon another character/characters without okay of other player.

Manager Protected Areas
In this RP, the palace and other places of royalty are mana-protected. This means you cannot just go in and blow the place up, crash your ship into it, or set it on fire. Also, anything that is created by another member is protected as well. You many not destroy someone elses property without their permission.

Starting Level
Master ranks will only be grandfathered for previous RPers on the Master character they had, provided management has seen them before, and can confirm their ability to RP as a Master. For new characters. If you are playing a Jedi, Dark Jedi or Sith, you may not start beyond a level 3 rank. For Shadows, as they are a fairly new order in RP terms, do not start beyond a lvl 2. We will ensure you can progress in rank through RP experience and skills.
While we allow new characters to start as Jedi Knight/Sith Warrior/Dark Jedi Knight, if you choose to start as an apprentice, the apprentice will have to test for their next rank.

Force training
While we allow typists to create new characters that start as Jedi Knight or Sith Warrior rank, it is expected that typists who choose this route be knowledgeable of the Jedi or Sith order, in the context of our established rules (see relevant order pages). In other words, don't be contrary to the codes we use.
For those who prefer to start as an apprentice or padawan, it is up to you to work out how your character is trained, as played characters of Knight level and above, are in limited supply, and there may not be one available or willing to devote RP time to train you. There are other options: All Jedi are allowed to study at the local Praxeum, to access reading materials and datapads.

Currently, there are three known Jedi holocrons in RP, all in the care of the Jedi Council, who copy portions of the holocrons to holo-shards, for students needing more indepth knowledge. Sith lore is easier to come by on the black market, and there is an academy on Korriban, and ruins of an old Temple on Naboo. Smaller holocrons are easier to come by, while more ancient holocrons are kept guarded by some of the current Sith masters. Dark Jedi are less regulated than any other order, and don't have much in the way of reading materials, but much of their lore mirrors the more self serving principles of the Sith

The Shadow Jedi are currently manager regulated, so even an apprentice needs to be approved before play is possible. This order is for those more experienced with the room, and trusted by management.

Clarifications of Force ranks

Force ranks are based on character's training and experience:
Level 1 / Adept - Untrained, may not even know they even have the force. If they know but do not regularly train in the core basics of the force, this is as far as they go.
Level 2 / Apprentice - One who knows they have the force and trains consistently and regularly, well enough to use powers of this level. While one does not need to be affiliated with either, the Jedi, Sith, Dark Jedi or Shadow, they are the paths this RP recognises as valid and thus, they are the disciplines with the knowledge needed to train past level 1.
Also, at this point, one is either a light side, dark side or shadow being - note that Shadows require management approval.
Level 3 / Knight, Warrior, Journeyman - After extensive training and devotion to their respective philosophies, the force user has learned enough to be able to teach others, but must still be training daily, to a measure above that of an apprentice. There is no question of their path, it isn't just a question of power, one doesn't just train for a while, reach level three and then never has to study or practice ever again. The Knight/Warrior/Journeyman must maintain their sharpness like a blade, otherwise, if they do not train and apply the philosophy to their everyday lives. they grow dull and after a time, regress back to level two.
Being a level three means no partial measures, training is not casual, the code is not a polite suggestion, no, it is how they live. Anything less is insufficient and their power will fade.
Level 4 / Master - True and total devotion, daily training, absolute discipline. To be a Master is the result of time spent as a Knight/Warrior/Journeyman, devoting their entire life to the path.
With Knight/Warrior/Journeyman requiring no less, than half of one's life being put aside to maintain their level of power, for a Master, the path they take is their entire life.
These are the force users who have dedicated nothing less than the highest study and application of study, the deepest commitment to becoming and staying, as a true Master of their path.
In short, while we allow new characters to start at level three, this does not mean one can make a new Jedi Knight or Sith Warrior, and then ignore the Jedi or Sith code.
If your character's regular conduct, attitude, and decision making are not in line with the way a Jedi, Sith or Dark Jedi should conduct themselves, management will declare their power level to be reduced.
This doesn't mean they must wear long robes and announce to all what they believe in, as there is such a thing as being undercover, but it must be just that - a cover, a facade, one that does not change who they are at their core. A level three force user should still know all that is needed, to train an apprentice if they so choose, have a deep knowledge of the Jedi or Sith code, and in terms of personality, be consistent as a being of the light or the dark side of the force.
Anything less means go back to level two. The character either isn't ready for level three, or isn't able to handle it.

Turning / Leaving, or being expelled from an Order

There are times when one turns away from the path, be it a Jedi falling to the dark side, or a Sith finding the light, or a Shadow who gives in to one or the other, losing their balance.
It should be rare, since training, discipline and commitment would often prevent such things, but in the extreme cases where it does happen, the force user drops one level in power - the only exception being if they are level 1, in which case they have no where to fall to, but an adept lacks the deeper connection to the force, to care.
When a force user does fall, they must spend at least 30 days as a fallen force user. Preferably, falling is something that lasts a long period of time. The 30 day rule is to prevent people from "flip-flopping" back and forth. We've seen it before and it's lame. We won't have it.
If they are a Master (and this should be incredibly rare, since the process to becoming a Master should prevent this. The story had better make logical sense) anyway, once they have fallen, they must find a new path, or after 30 days, will fall down past level 3, to level 2.
Characters cannot maintain high levels of force power in this RP without commitment and connection to an Order recognised by management. We will not have unaffiliated level 3's, let alone unaffiliated Masters.
If your character leaves their order, or if they are expelled, likewise, they will soon fall in power level, following the same time frame as one who has turned.
Ranked force users are supposed to be a privilege, something special. We will not allow ranks to be cheapened, nor will the Council be disrespected.

Armour rules:

Armour can be worn by anyone, but heavy armour makes force powers less effective when worn.

Mandalorian armour requires approval to own, and the plates made of Beskar, is accepted as being able to provide limited protection against low level blaster fire, vibroblades, and lightsabres - one or at most, two hits per body area (not individual plates, keep it simple), before needing to cool, or be repaired. This is per fight, not for a time period,, to make things simpler - This is not an online MMORPG. Attacks can still hit between joints that allow the armour's flexibility. Force users will find their powers less powerful by two ranks when wearing a full suit of Mandalorian armour.

Cortosis armour (the kind that shuts down sabres) is not allowed at all, this includes weapons.
While we do allow some lightsabre-proof melee weapons, we prefer they be less common, and they do not cause sabres to shut down.

Mandalorians and the Force

Despite most portrayals of prominent Mando'ade being shown as non-force users, eg: Canderous Ordo, Jango Fett, Boba Fett, Kal Skirata, Walon Vau etc, we do get a lot of requests for mandalorian force users.
Basically, it can be requested, as there were force users like Barda Jusik and Venku, but Bardan was a Jedi who left the order, and Venku was the rare product of a Jedi and a Mandalorian trained commando.
In this RP, Mandalorian culture is incompatible with the paths of Jedi/Sith/Dark Jedi/Shadows, so at best, they would be level 2, but even then, only with training and only when not wearing Beskar'gam/Mandalorian armour.
The wearing of regular heavy armour in this RP will reduce the effectiveness of force powers by one rank. The wearing of Mandalorian Beskar'gam armour, will reduce powers by two ranks, so even if a Jedi or Sith were to get some Beskar, it would make them highly ineffective with the force.

Moding of NPCs and environment.

We prefer to minimise regulation as much as possible, so while we have no firm guidelines on the following, we do expect typists to use common sense when it comes to: NPCs - especially those of law enforcement
In character media

If your character is not an A list celebrity like the King or similar, it is unrealistic for paparazzi to be flocking to someone not well known.

If you think you have Naboo News worthy stories, let a mod know and they will write it up for the Naboo News channel. If it is not verifiable IC, doesn't fit in with what would be reported or is trashy drama then we have the tabloids/gossip mill.
Rumours/Tabloids

A character can state a rumour, or state they heard a rumour, but to mode that the greater community has heard the gossip of some awesome person called "Captain Sham," is just not realistic. You can't force notoriety in RP. Let it happen naturally and organically.

You CAN post any gossip or tabloid trash you can think of on the gossip channel and see if it goes viral however. Gossip is for everyone to post to, some things may take, some maybe not but do not be offended if it does not.

Drama IC

We love RP drama, as long as it does not distract from the fact that we are in a Star Wars setting. Most of the drama should be SWs related and viable in the SW's world. This is not Riverdale, this is not Game of Thrones, nor is it Marvel so please keep that in mind. When you RP drama, ask yourself this question: "if I changed words like Naboo with New York, would people still know it was Star Wars?" If not, please refrain from doing it or work it to fit the current realm.

Drama OOC

There should be NONE of that, we are all meant to be adults and should be able to discuss things as such, if you have an issue, no freaking out in room or OOC, talk it out please, we are here to have fun and have enough stresses RL

Character Involvement
Everyone wants to be a part of RP, that is why we are all here. It is generally easy to get involved in Naboo if you do it the right way. We have a hub area called The Terrace and Palace Gardens where characters not currently engaged can meet up easiest. The Terrace is attached to an outer area of the palace and is open to the public. Free food and drinks are served by Ron and the terrace is run by Kitiara Uturu.
Naboo's anti discrimination laws allows for all kinds to enter and enjoy themselves. If you are not on the terrace and are free to RP, either ask if someone is free or make it clear you are open. If timezones/life/current onging RP permits, someone will RP with you. If you see someone post openly and can have a character get involved please do so, we are all here to have fun.
Main Storylines
When we work out a main SL for the room, we will post news about it on Naboo News to allow everyone the gist of what is going on without spoiling plans for future fun. This being said, if you want in on it, message a host and see how you can get involved.

Empire/Imperial worlds etc

In this RP, there is no Sidious, never has been, never will be. The Sith order do control a handful of planets, making a small empire, which include Korriban, Ziost, Dromund Kaas, Ravasha (OC), and Chimera (OC) and others that may be established by management. If you wish to have a connection to the Sith empire, ask admins first At this time, we have no desire to establish or introduce a galaxy spanning empire, so refrain from asking for such.
Fleets/personal armies

This RP is focused on characters, not ship combat, and that is how it will stay. If your character is of military background, that is fine, but it will have no in character bearing while on Naboo, as Naboo has its own military--and if you're some high ranking admiral or general of another planet, it is good for you to have a reason for being on Naboo, away from your world's military. To have Nubian military status, ask admins first.

Star Destroyers

We get a lot of requests for Star Destroyers, both in our Discord channel and in direct messages, and we want to explain why the answer is often going to be no, unless there is an incredibly good story-line, one that is established and built up over time. Remember, a Star Destroyer is worth about 150,000,000 credits, and no characters in this RP have that sort of cashflow. Palpatine had direct access to the Empire's galactic treasury, not planetary, galactic--you're not Palpatine.
In this RP, we have done away with fleets. They are a hassle and while they look great on screen, in RP, they inevitably lead to an arms race, with people trying to make sure they have the best fleet.
"But all I want is a personal base."
Then you don't want a Star Destroyer. A personal base would be the size of a mansion, not a large town.
An Imperial I-class Star Destroyer is 1,600 metres long, that is over a kilometre long, and has an average crew of 46,785:
Officers (9,235)
Enlisted (27,850)
Stormtroopers (9,700)
That is not a personal base, that is a a ship that carries more people than are in a town, which is defined as having a population of 1,000 to 20,000.
A Star Destroyer has literally more crew than two regular towns, and is 1.6 kilometres, or one mile long--think about how long it takes to walk one mile--A personal base does not need to be that big, with that many people.
You know what would be a good personal base? Something the size of the Millennium Falcon, or CR90 corvette, or the Ebon Hawk.
There is a reason games like KotOR show the main character in the Ebon Hawk, not a Star Destroyer.
This doesn't mean you have to have one of them, we do encourage originality and uniqueness, and we understand if you want something larger than a house, but you don't need a ship the size roughly 33 football fields. Maybe one football field, but not ten, and certainly not 33.
So when you use words like "personal base," please keep this in mind--this isn't to say we will never allow them, only that they will be rare in this RP--currently, no admins have one.
NPC's. (Non Played Characters)
NPC's are necessary from time to time. NPC's are to be treated as property of said creator. Creators decide their fate, unless the creator uses the NPC in a fight. Then, killing an NPC is fair game. NPC's many not call lethal damage on a played character. NPC's may not be force using characters. You may use up to one NPC at a time, unless you are the ruler of the planet the rp is taking place, then you can control up to 5. Also, you may use 5 NPC's to protect your homes or property. Heads of Palace Security (NSF, KON, etc) may use up to 5 NPCs.
Player Created Species.
Once you give someone else permission to play a character of your species, you may not take it back. The character is out of your control. Likewise, if you give a character away period, you lose all creative control over said character. You can't just auto what happens to it after you give it up.
No Harassment
This shouldn't have to be said, but sadly it does occur. Do not harrass people about race, creed, colour, religion, gender identity, sexual preference or if they love Justin Bieber (we will just silently shake our heads on the last.) This applies to in room and whisper.
IF YOU ARE BEING HARRASSED, INFORM A HOST ASAP.
Offensive Behaviour
This kind of behaviour will result in some level of reprimand depending on the severity.
Things that you may not do that people frequently find offensive:
* RPing out any kind of sex scenes. Take it to whisper!
*Excessive insult cursing.
*Gruesome torture scenes. RP it out privately.
*OOC harassment, such as in whispers.
*Also slandering players on social sites such as Facebook, Twitter or other websites.
*Spamming the boards
*Posting anything to do with religions, or using religious deity's names (God, Buddah, Jesus)
*Disrespectful behaviour
*Forming cliques - private scenes are allowed, but not deliberately snubbing reasonable attempts from others to engage in RP with your characters, especially if said character holds a position or role of prominence.
General Rules and Information.
You may play almost any type of Star Wars character that you wish except Vong. Vong do not exist in this RP.
Our RP is an alternate universe, set somewhere back in time before the movies. We do have technology from anything Star Wars (due to movie pics being easier to find), but our views on the force may differ from the films.
Characters must be original and true to the genre.
Characters must be played according to their species. (this means no teleporting or any other ability that isn't unique to the species)
All original species must be requested before play.
Characters must act age appropriately.
You may not resort to using canon character histories in your own history.
If a manager asks you to change your font colour, due to it being too hard to read, obey.
Names
Choose names that are original.
You cannot be Padme, Han Solo, etc.
You cannot use a name that someone else may be using.

Character pictures
You may not use canon pictures of the actors for your characters. Ie. Natalie Portman, Harrison Ford, etc unless heavily edited and not the character they played.
Character pictures must be appropriate for the site.
No nudity.
Try and avoid using the same picture as another player unless both parties agree. Our discord has a channel for requests, and a channel that records all current "face claims."

G.O.O.D Card
We are offering each and every member who RP's here one chance to 'get out of death' free.
You may use any method to bring back the character. Clone, some sort of uber healing, an artifact...whatever.
We are going to leave it up to the player to explain how it happens.
We urge you to use some creativity and not just 'bam' and show back up in the game without some sort of explanation.
The stipulations on this:
You may only use this on a character that is currently alive in the game, or future characters.
This cannot be used to bring characters that have died prior to today's date.
One freebie pass per IRL player, so use it wisely.
If we find you cheating, we will strip you of all of your characters and you can start over.
This does not apply to the dark master force power that allows a dark master's spirit to inhabit another body.
You must post on the requests board when you want to use this option. It will be automatically granted, however we need a post for our 'records'.
