JEDI ORDER RULES

1. Jedi who engage in romantic relationships, must do so with great care, as Jedi must not let their emotional connections get in the way of their conduct and decision making. In the past, the Order has taken different views: in the past it was thought that relationships should be encouraged, to ensure future generations of Jedi, while later, romance was banned except for Jedi of species with low birth rates. Prior to the Naboo war, padawans were banned from any form of romance altogether, but now, with our numbers depleted, and only the strongest Jedi who have survived, Padawans of sufficient maturity can follow their feelings, their masters, and the wisdom of the Council.

If the Council and or a Padawan's master feels that a Padawan is being hindered by their relationship, the Padawan will be ordered to separate themself from it, at least until they reach Knighthood.

Note: Becoming a Knight or even a Master, does not absolve a Jedi from their responsibility to the Force, and Jedi of all ranks must ensure that their relationships only strengthen their connection to the Force (as well as each other), not hinder it. Remember that things like jealousy are the path to the dark side, and a Jedi may have to choose between saving a loved one, or a large group of people, but those who trust the Force as their ally, will generally find a mate, who will understand.

Any married Jedi is expected to still put the will of the force and adherance to the jedi code first and foremost, even before the importance of their marriage, such is the commitment required of all Jedi. This aside, while the council does not assume any place in how to tell married Jedi how to live their lives, married Jedi must remember that they each represent the order. It is important for all married jedi to be aware of this in both their marriage, and in potentially compromising situations (ie: affairs etc).

2. No Padawan under the age of 16 may be allowed to test for Knighthood, if you wish to make a char that under that age, understand that until the char reaches that age they will not be allowed to test. Mosts Knights are rarely Knighted before the age of 20 and masters below the age of 30 are rare.

Jedi students under the age of 12 are considered younglings, and are too young to be taken as a Padawan.

3. During the time of training Padawans dress is to be handled between Master and learner. The council holds no direct view on this but any abuse by Masters or padawans of this freedom will result in a council tribunal to discuss the matter.

4. Padawans under the age of 16 are generally not to posess or use full powered lightsabers until after the age restriction for weapons under Nubian law is satisfied. Adult Padawans may may posess a full powered lightsaber or weapon under Nubian law but only with their Master's approval.

Note: The age limit was placed long before the Naboo war. Since then, the Council feels that age is not as important as training and maturity. At any age, if a Jedi of any rank is trained, and can make it, they can use it. This goes for adults as well, as the Council does not simply hand out lightsabres to any random Force user, who has never made their own before - creation of one's own lightsabre teaches respect of the weapon, especially given how dangerous the process can be--some Jedi have lost limbs or even died, because they took shortcuts.
Jedi who wish to carry additional weapons, like a knife, blaster, bow and arrow, whatever, if you can make it, or at least know how to properly care for it, and use it safely, then use what you can to survive, but the best Jedi generally don't need rocket launchers, or sniper rifles.

Use common sense and wisdom. If a Jedi abuses the freedom of this rule, the Council will step in.

Note: Because of the events of the war, the NSF have, with King Rueben's approval, changed weapon laws to allow for this rule to be legal.

5. Padawans are to show proper respect to their Masters, other Knights or Masters at all time's, and like-wise Masters should show respect to those willing to be taught.

6. Padawans and Apprentices are to use the term " Master" when refering to their teacher unless given permission by their Master to use their names instead of "Master".

7. Padawans are to adhere to a schedule set by their Master.

(This refers to IC adherance only. Masters cannot dictate ooc when padawans must be online for training)

8. Padawans are to never become part of a separate organisation, ie UFF or Nubian Fleet, during their time spent as an Apprentice. Unless assigned by the Jedi Council.

9. No Padawan may order another Padawan to do something, nor may they contradict the order of another Padawan's Master on any matter.

10. No Jedi should treat another being as a lower form of life.

11. Any Jedi seeking entrance into the order should request a meeting with either a Council member (Masters Sage, Sojihie, and Sobubiw), or a Jedi entrusted by the Council, to handle evaluations - at present, this includes:

Sora Mcleod

William Harmony

Tyler Blaze

Mack Starwind

Master Valiant

Master Akana Khulu

Master Qiann Ri Liang

Study may be done before hand at the Praxeum, however, if any Padawan is found in contradiction with the order they will be released from the order and not allowed to continue their padawanship.

Former darksiders turning to the light, will need to be evaluated before training begins to assess readiness and to discuss what repercussions that may need satisfying ( ie atoning ).

Knights and Masters who feel they should be added to the list of Council entrusted Jedi, can make request of the Council.

12. Padawans ages 16 and over may be taken on by Knights and Masters without question from the Council.

(Unless there are extenuating circumstances i.e. something odd or weird about the two people's relationship, one or both of the people. See rules 14 and 15.)

13. Padawans under the age of 16, and Jedi Children will be taught and potentially housed in a special branch of the Praxeum, under the care of the entrusted Jedi named in rule 11. Regardless of having a master or parents, they are limited to the Praxeum grounds unless supervised by a parent, knight, or master, or if they are deemed mature enough by the Council, to venture on their own..

14. A Knight may take on the responsibility of one padawan, although knights are advised to seek wisdom from the Council, if they have never trained a Padawan to Knighthood before.

A Knight may request Council permission to take on others, but approval for this is rare, and only for more experienced Knights, who are close to becoming Masters.

15. A Master may train up to three Padawans at a time, if they so wish. A council request is not needed. However, this is only recommended if at least one of their existing Padawans, is close to Knighthood.

Note: Knights and Masters are not to train their own family members as Padawans, without Council approval - this includes children, siblings, cousins, and spouses.

Those who have already begun to do so, prior to the end of the Naboo war, may continue, as long as the Council sees no issue. If an issue arises, the Padawan will be assigned to another to be their master.

A Knight or Master can teach a family member in ways of the Force, and other essential skills, but the nature of family can cause conflicts, in a Master and Padawan relationship.

16. Unless given direct and authorised permission of the Council, no Jedi Padawan or Knight may assume a second role, IE NSF, GRF, Senator etc.

The following are some reasons a Jedi may be expelled from the Order:

1. A Jedi kills, maims or otherwise harms an innocent on purpose, out of cold blood (aka no reason for it).

2. Excessive amounts of senseless fighting. (say they are seen creating fights repeatedly. This does not refer to sparring but rather excessive and repeated altercations of a serious nature).

3. Consistently and constantly acting contrary to the Jedi code, and or showing defiance and or disrespect of the Jedi Council over a period of time.

4. Aiding darksiders in their endeavors. And are sharing friendly associations with them constantly (beyond trying to help them to the light of course).

5. Delve into the darkside, ie, using force chokes other than in dire circumstances and other overly painful methods of force usage. Also including the unauthorized study of dark texts.
