Please refer to legal drinking/sexual interraction age for clarification on pregnancies for underage characters.

Divorce Laws

Anyone may divorce without requiring their spouse to approve the certificate. property is divided by what they owned prior to being married unless by prenuptial agreement, said agreement must be in a recorded rp. and cannot be made after the two characters are married.

If one spouse is missing for at least 6 nubian months, with NO form of communication that can be recorded between the two spouses, the said spouse may be considered "dead" as far as the marriage is concerned. This person may not need to be declared dead under law, but the other spouse is allowed the privileges of a widow/widower.

Drug Laws

Spice is illegal on naboo, anything that isn't medicinal and has proven harmful side effects is also illegal. Caffiene tablets are fine as are vitamin pills.

Anyone caught using spice can spend up to six (6) Nubian months imprisoned, or be sent to Wings of Change drug counselling facility.

No person can be charged with the same crime twice, if a sentence for a crime is served, it cannot be served again for the said crime. Example: if a person is sentenced to 10 years in prison for murder, they cannot be made to serve the same sentence for the murder of the same person a second time.

Laws Pertaining to Cloning

Clones from other worlds may come to Naboo on a tourist visa with the approval of the monarch and or royal council but no cloning of any kind may take place on Naboo. The royal council and ruling monarch reserves the right to disapprove an application for a tourist visa for a cloned being for any reason. The sole exception to this law is for any being who was cloned prior Jai's 15,3335 (August 15, 2002).

Any person who has died but is either cloned after Jai's 15,3335 (August 15, 2002) with their memories transferred to the new body OR is brought back to life by any means whether by enchantment or or any means whatsoever cannot attain a second death certificate. The said being is already declared legally dead. A person who is legally dead cannot own or sell anything or claim any rights of any kind. The killing of such a being will not be considered murder as the person is already legally dead. Naboo will not tolerate beings who commit what is by definition, "the perfect crime" and escape justice by returning from the dead.

This law applies to any beings of the previously described nature who were resurrected or cloned after Jai's 15,3335 (August 15, 2002) and who in their former life, had at any time, the death sentence.

Any being who is brought back to life or is cloned after Jai's 15,3335 (August 15, 2002) without their permission but has NOT at ANY time had the death sentence can apply to the Ruling Monarch for exemption from this law. The ruling monarch will make a decision on a CASE BY CASE BASIS. However, any unfulfilled sentence or debt that existed before their previous death or deaths will be expected to be paid should exemption be granted.

Laws of Court Cases and Trials

When your character is arrested, you post on the arrests and  trials board under the In Character section.
*You tell why you were arrested.
*You post any relevant information, such as a copy of the RP where you were arrested.
*You post who arrested you as well.
*The arrester will then post their side of the story, why you were arrested etc.
*The arrester is the one who issued the warrant. So basically Naboos security will be able to reply.
*A Judge will then post the verdict.
So from the initial post to the Judges post, it shouldn't take longer than 15 days.

Laws of Off-world Royalty

Off world Royalty is not royalty on Naboo, such people will be treated as representatives of another world, but will have no power on Naboo. (This does not extend to the royal family of Royalyn who are related to the Naboo Family)

Defence
Palace Guards

A) Guards patrol the halls of the palace regularly. A grand misconception exists about the ability of these npc guards; that they are easily defeated. Such is untrue. These guards are well versed in combat and are conditioned to remain strong willed against that which may aim to corrupt their intents and ability to perform or fool them. Guards travel in pairs while on patrol duty; even if both split up to cover more ground, one will always know where the other is. At each end of a hall are two guards constantly at watch and positioned to stand there in case needed for any situation. In between a hall guards are also stationed (two on each side of the hall), while other guards (the two paired), make rounds through the hall continuously. The floor where the royals reside is not only covered by the regular guards but Royal BodyGuards as well. In specific rooms, such as the library, public comm station, etc, guards are also positioned inside.

Guards also patrol the areas of the gardens, ensuring nothing goes overlooked. They patrol the gazebo area, fountain area, lake area, etc, fully covering the palace grounds.

Note: During visiting hours, the amount of guards is upped significantly to ensure not only the protection of the royals and that privacy is well put into play, but to also ensure the safety of those visiting. Understand that the communication between guards is quick. Camera's are always at watch. When a guard is downed, expect another or more than one to come running. These guards also relay a message to the RBG's quickly if needed and an RBG WILL be dispatched within a matter of moments to arrive on the scene.

B) While the palace guards are charged with maintaining the palace itself and those within safe, the RBG's, commonly known as Royal Bodyguards, are charged with directly protecting the royals. They are even better armed than the guards, trained well in coping with a situation that may include dealing with a force user. (For more information on the weapons of both the guards and the RBG's, please refer to the equipments page) These guards will halt at nothing to ensure the royals safety.

Note: Even if a RBG character is not directly in the room while a royal is in the room, Royals are protected by them none the less. Normal guards also serve as RBG's when needed.

C) Handmaidens, while seen as only in a sense maids to the ruler and heirs, are also well versed in combat if needed to place their lives on the line for the ruler and heirs(and they are ready and willing to do so). They serve as body doubles and friends to the rulers and heirs and are normally hooded and sometimes remain with their faces covered to ensure their identity is not revealed if they serve as body doubles to the princess.

Note: Understand that all these figures posed as the defence of the palace and the royals will aim to shoot first if there is a threat and ask questions later. If you happen to get hit by a Energy bolt not set on stun? Oops. Also, Handmaidens and guards house an armoured vest beneath their jackets, tunics, shirts, etc. This vest is useful against stopping a slug thrower pellet and one or two blaster bolts.

D) Cameras are everywhere inside the Palace.  Every corridor, every room, every lift- always under surveillance.  The palace terrace is under camera watch as well. Cameras are also present in the gardens and covering palace property.
Anything you say inside the palace or terrace or on palace grounds will be recorded by the NSF. There are "blind spots" in remote areas of the gardens where camera coverage isnt complete, however none of these are close to the palace itself.  You must state you are in a blind spot and not being recorded, otherwise you will be recorded.

The City

The NSF Street Division works much like your normal Law enforcement department. They ensure the safety of those on Naboo in all cities throughout the planet. They patrol the city at all times on foot, in vehicles and always in pairs or more. Much like the guards of the palace, these patrols are also well versed in combat  These patrols return to bases situated throughout their respective boroughs and cities at the end of their shift where other patrols are then disbursed to take their place. They are armed with blasters, a stun baton, commlink and normally house some form of protective armour beneath their vests and jackets, something useful against slug throwers and perhaps one or two blaster bolts. (same as stated above for palace guards and Handmaidens) There are cameras about Theed itself, though they are not all encompassing like the palace, they are there.

Each situation that may present itself will be handled by the proper authorities, whether the terrorist dept. of the NSF need be dispatched, the intelligence dept., homicide, etc and each will handle the situation accordingly.

Planetary Defence

Much like the average military, the planetary defence members function the same way. They are fully trained in combat and air assault. They are only dispersed when needed in a dire situation, such as requested by a city to aid in dealing with an act of massive terrorism (Blowing things up basically), defending the planet against attack from another assaulting force, being called to defend the palace, etc. Those stationed at the various posts throughout the planet are in charge of the cannons and turrets positioned skyward to ward off any attacking vessels from above and in space.

Spaces defences are composed of various ships, planetary laser cannons, sensor bases, (for hyper drive detection, Aka tracking a ship.  Please read on this so as not to be confused as to how NSF officials could track a fleeing ship without it being an auto), clearance ports, (another form of inspection and recording a ships arrival and departure) and bases stationed with defence weapons.

The planet itself is also under constant protection. This is seen in the form of NSF city defence bases (police stations). The planet also has planetary shields and cannons aimed skyward.

Throne Room

The throne room is protected by guards at each door. Guards are stationed around the clock. The throne room is powered by its own generator. Nobody can get into the power generator room. (It is off limits) This prevents people from "Cutting the power" to the room.

All of the throne room windows and doors can be closed in one move, going into LOCK DOWN. This can only be controlled by the Royal Family or by the heads of security. This can be circumvented, to make things "fair" and realistic.

To cut through the doors, windows or walls, would take 10 total Role Play turns to do so. (They do not have to be in succession.) You can do nothing else during a move while you are cutting. Once the room is in lock down, nobody can enter or leave unless they are Heads of Security. (Unless they cut their way out, taking the required ten turns.)

Heads of security (to their respective commands) are:  Heads of the NSF.

The throne(s) are protected by an electrical current when not in use. This means only the Monarch or the Royal children (Id’s are checked by palm scans) can actually sit on them. If anyone else sits on the chair, an electric current flows throughout the throne(s) and will render the offender unconscious for 10 moves.

There are no rafters above the throne room, only a mural painted on the ceiling. The air vents into the room are secured so that if you do go through them, it will take an entire move just to get them open. Though there are balcony's within the throne room, they offer no exit out of the throne room.

In a similar fashion, the med-bay can also undergo a form of lock-down.  One ordered by any of the Board of Director's officials or Heads of the Security and the Queen. Once the doors of the med-bay are closed, take note it will be very difficult to get out as all the windows and doors will be closed.  All that will remain are the air-vents which house the capability to Suck out any form of foreign substance in the air (Ex: Gas)

Holding Cells:

There is only one way to get into the cell-block and one way to get out. The first security stop lies in front of electronic bars that leave room for nothing save the width of a wrist to fit through, leading down to a hall where a blast door lies is the path to the entrance of the holding cells. Well armed guards stand stationed at these security ports. Behind a false wall there is a small station where guards watch all who enter and all who leave. Aside from these stations there are also cameras taking in the view of the entrance hall from opposite angles.

Within this single long corridor (to where only two lifts descend), lies one hidden turret within a wall. Other small laser mounts are installed throughout the holding cell halls. Two are in the open in the first long corridor needed to move through to enter the holding cell area. One is in between both lifts, the other at the end of the hall, both facing each other and slightly aimed downward. Behind the blast door there is another smaller post where electronic bars mar the way forward. This third station is controlled by both stations in the first and second security stop.

Note: The electronic bars emit a stun should they be touched, effectively sending one into unconsciousness. The bars must be opened by the security stations.

Beyond these 3 stops, the holding cells are located. Within each cell is a camera constantly at watch. These cameras lie hidden to prohibit their destruction. You MUST BE cleared by an official (NOT An NPC) Authorized guard to enter the cell-block. If you take it upon yourself to enter, you will be stunned and placed in a cell. You will be stripped down and all weapons will be removed. Some cells are forced drained. Others are not. But if you are a force user, do not expect to be 'conveniently' placed in a non force drained cell. Cell doors and the cells themselves are reinforced to withstand the blows of anything unnaturally physically strong. Cybernetic implants will do little to break through a cell.

Note: These bases are heavily armed and well protected. You cannot 'stumble' onto them and figure you can get in by waving some form of ID in front of a guard's face. Radars aid them in detecting any incoming ship and if such incoming ship does not respond to a hail or relay the appropriate code even in a stolen ship, you will be shot down.
